    When it comes to adult education, there are a ton of options.. Should you enroll in a community college and work towards an associate’s degree? Or is it better to join a workforce-training program that will teach you industry-specific skills? Or maybe an extension program is right for you?

    Extension programs aren’t just another form of adult education. These programs have a lot to offer students of all ages, and are dedicated to bettering their communities. We’ve put together an overview of what makes extension programs unique – from what a typical student is like to the information they cover.

    Academic Year Activities for other Organization

    Our college provide venue for conducting seminar, symposium, workshop, competitive exams, etc., organized by Government and Non Government organization every year as follows;

  • V.O.C. College conducted three days national symposium on “Algal diversity and Resource status – current trends in utilization and prospects innovation”. This was held at golden jubilee hall of V.O.C. College of Education. Participants were from various states. V.O.C. College of Education provided a good environment for conducting the National Symposium.
  • On 07.10.17, to celebrate vigilance awareness week, NLC in association with V.O.C. College conducted an inter collegiate cultural programme on the theme “My Vision – Corruption Free India”. Many colleges participated in this programme.
  • On 29.10.2018 V.O.C.College organised a training programme in embroidery work in association with Anchor Company for their students. The programme was conducted in the Golden Jubilee Hall of V.O.C.College of Education. In this programme training was given for the students in embroidery.
  • On 03.03.2018 Customs Department, Thoothukudi conducted GATE exam at V.O.C.College of Education.
  • On 6.3.18 SarvaSikshaAbiyan training programme for school teachers was conducted at V.O.C.College of Education.
  • On 11.3.18 Police Department, Thoothukudi conducted a written exam for police selection at V.O.C.College of Education.
  • Academic Year Activities for our Student Teachers

    Our Faculty members, M.Ed. scholars and student teachers follow the practice of visiting Leprosy Home, Thoothukudi on 13 of August every year. Our management provides lunch and we serve them.

    Our students were engaged to volunteer the programme organized by Thoothukudi Disability Centre on 03.08.2018 at Tharuvai Stadium, Thoothukudi with respect to World Disability Day.

    On behalf of Thoothukudi District Child Line 1098, awareness programme on child protection was conducted for a week on the occasion of Children’s Day. A rally was arranged on 16.11.2018 from Rajaji Park to Old Municipal Office. Our District Collector Mr.SandeepNandoori IAS inaugurated the programme. They introduced the app “ Kavalan” which was demonstrated for all the students.

    V.O.C.College of Education organized a plastic awareness programme on 01.11.2018 and conducted a rally in order to create awareness on “Plastic Free Thoothukudi”. Faculty and student teachers actively participated.

    V.O.C.College of Education organized Street Play during November 2018 at Millerpuram Bus Stop, Thoothukudi in order to create “Plastic Free Thoothukudi”. Faculty members, M.Ed. Scholars and B.Ed. student teachers actively participated.
