Centre for Research in Education ,V.O.C. College of Education ,Tuticorin was born in 1990 with affiliation of Madurai Kamaraj University as the first research centre for the subject Education in southern districts of TamilNadu. 25 years of excellence in research experience and existence, the centre has produced more than 60social scientistsall over Tamilnadu. Research activities of the centre were accelerated from the year 2003 onwards. Extensive research facilities were created to promote innovative research. The students and Staff are encouraged to innovate through quality research in emerging areas. The Research activities in the centre include Academic research, action research, and UGC,NCERT, ICSSR, NTC, MHRDfunded minor and major research projects by our faculty members.
The centre is having 12 well qualified and approvedsupervisors & guidesincluding retired faculties.So far Approved Research Guides atthis Centre for Research,V.O.C. College of Education,Thoothukudi, from variousUniversities, namely Tamilnadu Teacher Education University,Chennai,Manonmaniam sundaranar University,Tirunelveli,Madurai Kamaraj University,Madurai, Mother Therasa University, Kodaikanal,Bharatiar University,Coimbatore, Bharathidasan University, Trichirappalli, Vinayaga Mission University, MS University, Baroda, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi and SardarVallabai Patel University,Vijayanagarall over India from 1990 onwards
Good research facilities are created in the research centre. The centre is fully equipped with standardised research tools thousands of theses and dissertations from M.Ed.,M.Phil., and Ph.D., programmes with different areas of specialization, refereed Research journals at national and international levels, Large volumes of research books.The facilities available for research in the college library & centre are listed below:
