Computer Course

The chief objective in conducting the compulsory computer courses for our student teachers is to introduce the future teachers to computer technology in a meaningful and practical manner. Some of the specific objectives are

To train the basic learners with computer fundamentals, MS-office especially in MS-word, MS-Excel, MS-powerpoint.

To train them to prepare powerpoint presentations in their respective disciplines for teaching purpose.

To train the advanced learners (those who have fundamental knowledge about computers) with Adobe Photoshop Cs4, Movie maker, Page Maker, Cloud Computing and Social Media.

To provide adequate hands on experience to the student teachers under the guidance of the respective teaching staff.

To introduce the student teachers about the internet usage such as creating e-mail id, safe browsing etc.

The Computer Course which is mandatory for all the student teachers is conducted at two different levels.

Level – I is for the basic learners (who are new to computer usage). The syllabus for Level – I includes – Introduction to computers, familiarizing computer accessories, introduction to MS-office working with MS-word, MS-Excel, & MS-powerpoint, introduction to Internet, creating e-mail id etc.

Level – II is for advanced learners (those who have fundamental knowledge about computers). The syllabus for Level – II includes Windows, Movie maker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Page Maker, Cloud Computing and Social Media.

It is a three months course. Usually it is commenced at the month of December and it is ended at the month of April. Both theory and practical class are being conducted. Adequate practical lab sessions are arranged so as to provide hands on experience to the student teachers. The theory classes are also conducted using system connected to LCD projector to facilitate understandable and effective teaching learning process.
