The internet has become an integral part of every individual’s life. In this digital era, basic computer skills are required for teacher for effective class room teaching. The institution has developed two well established computer laboratories and also expose prospective teachers to browse and use ‘Online Educational Resources’ for effective classroom teaching.

The institution offers Certificate Course in “MS-Office, Internet and its Applications” (Level-I for the beginner) and “Multimedia and its Application” (Level-II for the advance learner). Through this course, hands on experience is provided to student-teachers in operating Smart Board, Over Head Projector, LCD Projector, Video Recording, preparation of Power Point Presentation, Animation, Skype calls, Video Conferencing, Blogging and developing Social Network etc..

Computer Syllabus 2023-2024

Objectives

The chief objective in conducting the compulsory computer courses for our student teachers is to introduce the future teachers to computer technology in a meaningful and practical manner. Some of the specific objectives are

  • 1. To train the basic learners with computer fundamentals, MS-office especially in MS-word, MS-Excel, MS-powerpoint.
  • 2. To train them to prepare powerpoint presentations in their respective disciplines for teaching purpose.
  • 3. To train the advanced learners (those who have fundamental knowledge about computers) with Adobe Photoshop Cs4, Movie maker, Page Maker, Cloud Computing and Social Media
  • 4. To provide adequate hands on experience to the student teachers under the guidance of the respective teaching staff.
  • 5. To introduce the student teachers about the internet usage such as creating e-mail id, safe browsing etc

    • Laboratories
  • 1.ICT Resource Centre

    • It is a lecture cum laboratory air conditioned hall equipped with 40 computers of latest version with Internet Connection and Printer. It is very comfortable for the student teachers to work with the computers in the computer laboratory.

  • 2.Computor Laboratory

    • It consists of 40 systems for student teachers and one is teacher system with internet connections.The lab is equipped with LCD Projector, Printer and scanner. For the 200 student teachers computer classes are conducted in five batches. Five of our teaching staff members handle the classes. At the end of the three months course, proper evaluation of the programme was done by conducting examinations both theory and practical for Level - I and Level - II learners. Certificates are issued based on their performances in the examinations.

  • 11. Changing powerpoint slides into video.
