Two important visions of our founders, with which our college is serving, are that    a) Education should not be commercialised at any cost and b) The infrastructure of our college should be utilised throughout the year for cause of education for poor, down-trodden and unreached people. The later vision of our founder makes our management to start IGNOU B.Ed. Programme study centre in the year 2000. It was one among the three institutions identified by the IGNOU to have B.Ed. centres in Tamilnadu at that time. It has been rendering yeoman service for the past two decades by providing opportunities for completing B.Ed. course for the practising teachers throughout the states. Nearly 2000, teachers could enrich their professional qualifications with B.Ed. Degree through our centre. This is the centre in which, various orientation programmes for the Academic Counsellors of IGNOU in and around our district have been conducted. Besides, the centre also offers the programmes namely PGDHE (Post-Graduate Diploma in Higher Education), CIG (Certificate in Guidance), CTE (Certificate in Teaching of English) and CTPM (Certificate in Primary Mathematics).

The management of V.O.C. College of Education has been contributing 50% fee for all the aspirants of the courses for one course each. The schools in the country are considering the completion of these courses as the desirable qualifications. Recognising the service of the Programme-in-charge Dr.S.Rasul Mohaideen, IGNOU, Thiruvanandapuram Regional Centre, has been inducting him as the member of IGNOU Innovative Club.
