Eco Club

Eco club offer programs and activities to encourage others to reduce pollution, plant trees, save water, clean surroundings and more. Eco club in our college is a voluntary group which promotes the participation of student teachers in learning and improving their environment. A eco club is a platform to encourage our students to improve their knowledge about environment and to manage the crisis whenever it's arising.


OBJECTIVES OF ECO CLUB
  • To join together with nature and conserve biodiversity,
  • To Create awareness to protect and preserve natural environment.
  • To Promote ethos of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water.
  • To Create awareness of biodiversity conservation and local environmental issues among student teachers.
  • ACTIVITIES UNDER THE CLUB
  • Planting saplings and ornamental plants on special occasions.
  • Inspiring student teachers to be aware about habits and healthy life style.
  • Educating student teachers to create awareness amongst public and sanitary workers.
  • Sensitizing the student teachers to minimize the use of plastic bags, not to throw them in public places as they choke drains and sewers.
  • Avoiding water logging and prevent breeding ground for mosquitoes.
  • Organizing tree plantation programmes,
  • Creating awareness by conducting programmes such as Quiz, Essay, Painting, Elocution etc. regarding various environmental issues and educate student teachers about re-use of waste material and preparation of products out of waste.
  • Keeping classrooms free from paper, plastic -bags and food by maintain the club members regularly to check and collect the bins at least once a week
  • Eco club members clean up the college campus and taking care of the planted tree saplings.

    REPORT 2018-2019

    March: 21.03.19: - International forest day

    On 21.03.19 Eco club of V.O.CCollege of education celebrated International forest day in the college premises. The programme started with the prayer song. Ms.R.Rufina Thana Sudha welcomed the gathering. Chief guest Dr.G.Rajadurai gave a speech on the importance and conservation of trees. This was followed by the lecture of Dr.G.Amutha Ranjini. In her lecture she said about the theme of International forest day 2019 and about the importance and conservation of forest all over the world showing many slides. The programe came to an end after tree plantation in the college ground.
