Objectives

  • To reduce the occurrence of HIV infection among youth by raising their risk perception through awareness on HIV prevention methods.
  • To induce the spirit among youth to help and support people living with HIV.
  • To give AIDS awareness and education to the general public.
  • To understand and accept the civil and human responsibility.
  • To cultivate and maintain spirit of helpfulness.
  • To donate Blood and Save Life.
  • To serve the sick and the suffering.
  • Action Plan

  • Every year student teachers are enrolled as members of RRC.
  • Special programmes to create awareness about the killer disease are arranged.
  • Student teachers are exposed to the ground reality of the epidemic, by introducing them to the infected persons through special lectures.
  • Student teachers are enabled to transmit the message to their progeny.

    Activities

    On 06.03.2018 as insisted by TNTEU, Red Ribbon Club of V.O.C. College of Education organised a special programme on “Celebrating Life” for B.Ed. II year students. The programme started with a prayer song. The program was organised by the co-ordinators of the Red Ribbon Club Mrs..M.Sasikala, Mrs.R.Rufina Thana Sudha, Mrs.P.Priya, and Ms.S.KavithaLincy. Mrs.M.Sasikala, RRC Programme Officer, V.O.C. College of Education welcomed the gathering. Dr.TKanakaraj delivered the presidential address. Mrs.R.Rufina Thana Sudha, one of the RRC Co-ordinator gave the keynote address. She said about the role of RRC in the society. Chief Guest Mr.BaskarPaniRajan, RRC Co–Coordinators (i/c), Thoothukudi District gave a lecture on “Celebrating Life”. He lectured about Aids awareness and importance of blood donation. He conducted activities to the students regarding Aids awareness. This was followed by the address of Ms.Viji (Transgender) on Positive Network, Thoothukudi. She shared her personal experience about transgender and their feelings in the society. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs.P.Priya, one of the Co-ordinators of RRC. The programme came to an end with the National anthem.
